OK, OK, I did it.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Accused swindler Bernard Madoff has waived his right to a grand jury indictment, his attorney said Friday, a move that may signal a plea deal is in the works.

Madoff attorney Ira Sorkin said, "We are close to an arrangement that makes sense, given the gravity of the situation and the Government's need to exact justice against the backdrop of Wall Street's woes. My client and I are prepared to offer confinement in an amusement park of our choice for four minutes and fifty-two seconds, along with a fine of seventeen dollars and forty-two cents, in return for the Department of Justice dropping all charges."

A spokeswoman from the U.S. Attorney's Office had no further comment.
